Works right out of the box. Lots of nice features. Really like the the bios. I'm expecting this board will over clock as well as the extreme edition, maybe better since has less other stuff to deal with.
Not really cons but due to this board being a micro board it is lacking a few things. Like has less SATA 6 and less USB 3 ports. But I knew that when I bought it.
Purchased this to replace a P8P67 board that killed 2 2600K CPU's (not overclocked) How Asus handles that RMA will determine weather I purchase another Asus board or not.
The colors are nice, they match the scheme of my rig.
Lots of USB connections available.
Has SATA 3.0 connections.
The hex output on the board is handy.
The RAM slots never properly detected the timings, even though ASUS' manual listed it as compatible.
The northbridge gets pretty warm as it sits directly under any video card installed.
My CPU did not seem to overclock well even when kept very cool. (Maybe just bad luck on the CPU)
It did not line up with my cases opening for the CPU cooler opening in the back.
They upgraded the line to a PCI 3.0 shortly after I purchased this one, a little annoying, but not huge.
Their extra software has some cool features, but seems to still bloat the system. The settings wouldn't save to BIOS when changing fan speed, CPU clock, etc.
I have had this motherboard for nearly two years now. The RAM slots stopped working in it, no biggy it still had it warranty. So, I went to put in a RMA to get it repaired. I didn't see a apply for RMA option so I had to go through tech support, explain the problem and finally get my RMA cleared after a few days of emails. It has now been over a month since I sent that email, and I am waiting on my motherboard to still get back to me. It has finally shipped out, after having to make phone calls and emails to figure out what the delay was. They just told me it doesn't normally take this long, but offered no apology, or express shipping back to make up for the delay. The time really can't be made back up, it was my last month of my last summer after having an summer internship. Very frustrated after all the good I have heard about Asus.
