ASRock P43Twins1600 LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Everything I wanted. Nothing I didn't want. SATA II, Vista 64 Home Premium installed without a hitch. Bios updated flawlessly. Provides a nice bit of future proofing for the dual-core to quad-core path.

Cons: None, Nada. Zip.

Overall Review: Got all this mostly from NewEgg - for my son (after ordering a pre-built gaming box over the net from some configurator companhy that didn't work and had to be returned).

Configured with Intel 8600 cooled by a Thermaltake CL-P0310 120mm CPU Cooling Fan, 4GB OCZ RAM, EVGA Geforce 280, ThermalTake ToughPower 700 W PSU, Western Digital VelociRaptor 10,000 RPM SATA II drive, LG SATA DVD/CD. All packed into a CoolerMaster Cosmos S case. As mentioned above, Vista 64bit H.P. Plays Crisis 64 at full settings with 32 fps during action, 62 fps during non-action (like running around).

I've built systems in the past, this was an exercise to prove to my nagging wife that ordering from a gaming machine builder company is a waste of time. My order from NewEgg combined with a little local shopping produced a box that had about the same or better specs at an $800 savings. Thanks NewEgg!

Cons: First board killed 2 gb of OCZ ram. I have since RMA the ram and motherboard. The second motherboard has another bad ram slot and will need to be RMA. Also killed another set of OCZ RAM. Also corrupted my quad boot system. XP, VISTA, windows 7. I've had the PC built for 3 months and have had to reload the OS's a total of 15 times (mostly vista) due to random shutdowns during updates due to the bad hardware. Many othe rissues DO NOT BUY THIS BOARD.

Overall Review: I build custom PC's everyday at work using ASUS and have never had a problem with their boards. I am buying an ASUS board from newegg very soon.
