37" 1080p LCD HDTV

Pros: Ordered three for our conference center. Two are ceiling mounted and one is on a Chief Mfg. rolling stand. Excellent picture, and color. The VGA input expansion is very good. 1024X768 stretched is very clear and not hazy. The native resolution is even better. Simple onboard controls don't let users mess the settings up. Remote control is simple and fairly well layed out, although a bit cheap. Removable speakers allow for clean installation. PIP is nice for displaying TV and computer together.

Cons: Display is too new, so a more expensive universal mount is required. One display has a power switch and the other two are only soft off, which is confusing. The speakers are not good. Remote is required for setting most display options. Auto aspect setting is not available on all inputs. PIP control is limited and only works with AV inputs and tuner. DVI and HDMI share one connection.

Overall Review: Overall we are very pleased with them. Picture is excellent. Speakers are not home theater material. They are fine for looping presentation video sound. The picture more then makes up for them. Throw them out and hook up a surround processor. The speakers are keeping if from being a 5/5.

Pros: Price is pretty decent and pic quality is good.

Cons: Poor quality, power board burns out. Remote is very limited. Not as many HD inputs as other brands. Sound from stock speakers is "meh."

Overall Review: Ok, so i bought this tv back in Dec 2005. I was happy with it and excited as it was my first HD tv. Jump now to Oct 2008 and the tv is junk!!! Google "Sceptre Power Board" and you will see that this brand has problems. Mine burned out earlier this year and the part was back ordered because they don't have enough. When it finally came it was installed and 5 weeks later it went out again. Mind you I have the tv on a back-up power supply in case of brownouts and such. DEFINITELY get the extended warranty if you still want to buy this junk, glad I did. Next time I'll go with a better known quality brand. BUYER BEWARE!
