Pretty nice netbook overall. Processor is not a beast, but seems at least on par with the Atom N450, maybe a little better. Radeon HD 4250 is a marked improvement over the Intel integrated graphics. Build quality has come a long way on these Seashell Eee's. I also have a 1005HA and this one seems much sturdier. Matte-finish screen is a plus.
Keyboard is much improved, but still not as good as others on the market.
Newegg's description says this netbook holds a max of 2 GB RAM - this is not entirely true. This will take a single 4 GB stick. The caveat here is that you will need a 64-bit OS running to address the full amount. Windows 7 Starter will not recognize the full 4 GB.

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW
Dont put all your "eggs" in one basket!
+The netbook is very appealing physically, matte screen makes outdoor use possible. Chiclet keyboard is superior to many similar sized products. Scratch proof bottom with only a few finger-print magnet (glossy) surfaces.
+The HDMI port on a netbook is awesome, and was almost unheard of prior to this model.
+The 1.2Ghz Nile single processor/ Radeon HD4250 match up are definitely on par with 1.6Ghz single processor Intel Atom/on-board graphics. AMD definitely wins in the HD video category because of the graphics card.
**ESSENTIAL get the proper video codecs so processing is offloaded onto graphics. I Recommend K-Lite Codec Pack(free download online)
+ASUS includes 500GB of web space which is definitely a plus.
+Newegg support is exceptional
NOTE: My review is based on 1 week w/1GB RAM, 1 week w/2GB (Win7 Starter) & then 2 weeks w/full 4GB(Samsung). Plan on upgrading to atleast 2GB to get proper performance out of the netbook. Note: O.S. will need upgrading for
-Product runs SUPER hot to the point that it is uncomfortable on the lap. Vent on the left side blows out heat while lacking proper air circulation.
-Bloatware. Refer to a guide when it comes to removing software which is optional, as some should definitely be kept i.e. Super Hybrid Engine.
-5400RPM drive is slow, and you might end up with a "ticker"... which is a very annoying start/stop noise that is usually unnoticeable.
Asus has some seriously quality assurance issues, and the reviews below mine will go to show you that I am not the only one who got not ONE but TWO defective products!!
I consider myself an enthusiast as well as an expert when it comes to computers in general. That being said, I am not willing to sacrifice my warranty by ripping through the "void sticker". Otherwise the original issue I will note below would have been long fixed by hooking up the 2.5"hard drive to my desktop(s) and isolating the corrupt sector(s) or multi-boot problem.
Purchased this and 4GB Samsung RAM being aware that Starter only supports 2GB, I purchase the Windows 7:Home Premium "upgrade"(50% cheaper) and things start going awry..
The Disk is partitioned into 4 spaces: ~100GB:SYSTEM (85GB free) ~120GB:PRIMARY (empty) ~20GB: RECOVERY ~20GB: "EFI" DISK First I installed 64 bit version, Install went flawless. Ran surprisingly smooth. Unfortunately the embedded graphics driver is not 100% compatible, anyone who knows their laptops knows that embedded notebook GPUs should always use specified drivers. Though to myself: No big deal, Ill still get 3.5GB RAM out of 32 bit version.
So I proceeded to install 32bit but since I have an "upgrade" edition, I must do a system restore first. BUT upon hitting "begin" the corrupt sys restore crashes and so the backup I saved were also corrupt.
Called ASUS Support, long story short they refer me to the online store for a restore CD, neglecting to mention it costs $50.
