Excellent hardware with some build quality flaws

Very fast machine, boots nice and quick thanks to the SSD. I haven't yet really put it through its paces, but StarCraft II runs very smoothly at max settings.
Screen has minimal glare and great contrast.
Backlit keyboard great for low-light settings.
Sleek and sophisticated design, unlike many other "gaming" computers.
Power USB feature is a handy touch.
Overall its a great machine.

Mine came with a slightly warped keyboard. It doesn't sit flush and there's a small bubble on the top left. Its too bad, because the rest of the machine looks great, very sleek. I am still considering whether I want to deal with RMAing it.

I am converting from a MacBook Pro and the touchpad isn't nearly as good. Easy fix - I bought a mouse.

Overall, its a very solid machine for the money. I have read elsewhere that Gigabyte has some quality control issues. I have now experienced this first hand. My issue isn't hugely significant in terms of negatively impacting my usage experience, but its very unfortunate because it takes away from what otherwise is a well-designed computer.

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW
Fast but flawed

Fast CPU
Fast GPU
High res screen
Very thin

First unit came damaged and warped
Doesn't seem very sturdy

I purchased this laptop because I wanted a fast, super thin gaming rig with high specs. I personally wanted a Razor but they are a bit too expensive. The first unit I received had the dimple on the front of the unit that looked like someone hit it with a tack hammer. The unit was warped, wouldnt turn on. I contacted NewEgg, who were very helpful, and overnighted me a replacement.

The replacement unit came and has been fine so far.

I see that Gigabyte now has an explanation that the units were damaged in shipping. If that is true, as my box wasn't damaged at all, then the structural design of the unit is flawed.

Supposedly we now get a 5 year warrant on the unit, which is good. I also bought a 1 year accidental warranty.

The unit does seem flimsy. It could use some more aluminum or magnesium in the frame. I have high hopes for the laptop but I am afraid to really move it around anyways since it seems to flimsy.

I would not recommend this laptop right now because of these issues, even though it is fast.
