Simple Design, Quality Sound

Simple design that doesn't overwhelm the room, which is nice.
LFE connection

LED status light it bright and not adjustable

For me, this was an excellent value and provides the quality I was looking for.
When I read reviews about Pioneer items, even the Elite series, reviews are pretty mixed. Even though my experience with Pioneer has never been anything other than positive, I'm always a little nervous because of the negative views of some.
In my opinion, this is a quality item. I had a smaller PSB subwoofer that just wasn't giving me the sound I wanted. Seeing the price break on this, I thought it'd be worth the try. I'm pleased with the sound and it seems to have gotten a little better as it has broken in. I don't like the bass to be overwhelming, but if you like that, I think this can provide it.
I'm using the LFE so I can't speak to any of the manual adjustments at the subwoofer.

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW
Mine has a hum problem

Sounds great, has very good performance for the price. Deep bass goes down to about 30Hz. Very articulate and accurate with good transient response. Amp is powerful and can drive the sub to impressive volume levels.

Unfortunately, mine came with a very low level hum that’s only audible during quiet passages or silence between commercials. Tried to troubleshoot this (different subwoofer cable, plugging into different power outlets) without success. Hum occurs even when the audio cable is unplugged, which means it’s probably an amp problem (bad capacitor). Thinking about sending it back for a replacement but am hesitant due to having to pay for return shipping (who knows if the next one will work any better; could be even worse). Could probably live with the hum if it doesn’t get any louder, but am afraid it will as the capacitor in the amp ages.

This is a great value, assuming you get one without the hum. Hard to say if this is an isolated problem or a common issue. If you decide to buy one, good luck!
