System build: 9950X3D on Asrock Taichi MB with 192GB DDR7 6000, MSI Shadow 5080GPU, Arctic Deep Freeze 360mm cooler powered by MSI MPG A1000G. Big CPUs/GPUs need lots of air volume, flow, and cooling, and this ATX case is one of the best that I've seen, w/4x140mm ARGB relatively low Db fans.
The case is quite well built, attractive, solid, easy access to everything.
The case wiring is relaxed and is easy to bundle and hide within the case wiring channel.
PLS read important notes in the Cons section.
I found no justification for any of the negative comments of others. A number of users complained about fans and whatnot not working off the case switchboard. Give them power by connecting PSU power to the switchboard or connecting straight to the MB, and they will work.
If you're not accustomed to building PCs (IT engineer with 39 years exp), this case has a tiny, poorly documented user guide/ manual that leaves much to be desired. That said, the case switches/fan hub board has well-laid-out wiring and is relatively easy to figure out. As well, the switchboard has 3 extra connection slots for more PWS fans.
Very important note: the switchboard requires a SATA cable to power everything. So, if you don't hook up a PSU-powered SATA cable to the switchbox, things are not going to have enough juice to work properly, if at all.
The case wiring is relaxed and is easy to bundle and hide within the case wiring channel.
Only comes with 3 MB standoffs... if you need more, any PC shop/ Best Buy will have boxes of space screws and such... 1000s of standoffs for free if you ask nicely.
I didn't bother using the standoffs that came with the case because they appear to be too darn delicate. Use standard brass, paint them black if you like. (I painted them black because I'm kinda OCD about things being perfect... other than my marriages. lol)
VIP Tip: when heavy loading/ overclocking monster watts hungry CPUs/GPUs... the system CPU/GPU/RAMM will be flaky/ unstable if there's not enough PSU to meet the power demands! Always amazed at how many people run into problems because the PSU is insufficient to meet the maximum load of the system.
Also pls note: many MB BIOS default DDR4-7 RAM to underclocked speed values from the get-go... so it's OK to go into the BIOS and set the installed RAM to its original factory values as these factory values are always noted on the memory sticks.
Overall, 4.98 of 5 stars... the SAMA Z60 is impressive on all counts. It was a pleasure to utilize this case for my latest "Mother of all PC Builds." Of course, bragging rights, per se, are always short-lived until the next latest and greatest CPU/GPU.
I'm using this build to power my diving headfirst into savvy AI book/ documentary writing and video graphics.
Yes, I am a professional writer despite all evidence to the contrary.. Pls ignore any typos, as I don't care at this late time of the night. lol
I like the physical design of the case, it is esthetically pleasant and easy to work with.
However, the electrical wiring has issues. Let's start with the front (actually top) electric panel: I have only managed to have the on/off switch, the audio jack and one out of two USB 3 connectors working. No luck with the rest of the other functions, although I think the USB-C should work, but my older motherboard does not support the connector. The connector to the front panel pins on the motherboard is just a block that does not allow adjusting to various motherboard pin configurations. Then, the four fans are connected to a board that does not seem to work, so I connected the power cables from the fans directly to my motherboard, which works (for three only, that's my motherboard limitations), but no way to power the lights integrated to the fans. And of course, no instructions about how to connect anything electrical.
I do not recommend this product, and I would not purchase it again. I would prefer spending more money and buy a Fractal Design computer case. The product needs serious improvements in the quality and documentation of the motherboard connections.
