SAMSUNG 22" WSXGA+ LCD Monitor 2 ms D-Sub, DVI 2232BW+

Pros: This monitor is large, bright and very easy on the eye, probably because of its very fast response time of 2 ms. HL2 and F.E.A.R. run flawlessly on it in 1680x1050, without a hint of flicker or ghosting. A beautiful beautiful piece of electronics.

Cons: The base connects to the monitor through a somewhat flimsy plastic bulb to grommet assembly, making the monitor a little wobblier than most. If you don't smack your computer table or beat your keyboard when you type it won't be an issue, which is why I have taken no stars off for it ;)

Overall Review: The 8000:1 contrast ratio means colors appear very vibrant on this screen, not washed-out at all. This is an upgrade from a Samsung 941BW Black 19" 4ms and looks a lot nicer, as well as having a nice large power switch and clearly-labeled buttons. All in all, this really is a fantastic monitor especially for the price I paid for it on Newegg.

Pros: Good picture quality, great for gaming. Reasonable support from samsung.

Cons: I purchased two of these monitors about 6 months ago...After 3 or 4 months one started flickering when it first was turned on. It progressively got worse and worse until the monitor stopped working completely. Samsung's support website was slow and worthless, but their phone support was exceptional. I got my RMA without much hassle, and they told me I'd have a repaired monitor in about a week and a half. About 4 weeks later I finally received it.

Now the second monitor is flickering, so I get to go through the whole process over again.

My other complaint about this monitor is that there is a LOT of light bleeding around the edges of the monitor. For me, this is most noticeable during the Vista startup screen, but people who watch a lot of video would probably be very irritated.

Overall Review: My friend told me I'd regret getting a Samsung and I should get an Acer instead. He's been proven right twice, and that irks me as much as the defective monitors themselves.
