At 297.00 and then 299.00 (bought 2, a month apart), can't beat that for size and quality you get. Both monitors worked straight out of the box, just plug and play. No dead pixels on both monitors.
The stand is sturdy and even though you shake object your monitor sits on and the screen wobbles a bit, you can tell the stand itself won't break under the pressure.
No DVI - maybe I don't keep up with the times and DVI is going the way of ISA slots, but I found it unusual that it does not have a DVI port.
As others have stated, the red accent is not really visible like it is in the pictures unless you have light shining on the bezel. So you won't really see it unless you use it in a well lit room, which I imagine most gamers like myself shun.
Instead of including a VGA cable, I think it would have been better to include an HDMI cable instead.
I bought one of these monitors about a month ago to replace a 19" lcd HannsG monitor I broke coming from a lan party 2 months ago (I loved that monitor, had it since like '03). Since everyone was sporting 24"s, I thought I would one up them and get a 27". Man, talk about a HUGE upgrade. Color, size, response time...best of all, no having to switch between resolution sizes (I use a 42" tv that supports 1920x1080 and that HannsG only supported a 1400x900).
Anyways, a store owner calls me and tells me her monitor she uses to view all of security cams on itsn't working. So I go and troubleshoot and bring this monitor along to help. After determining her monitor was fried, she was very impressed with this monitor and offered me cash on the spot for it. So the next thing I do is come back here and debate on getting this one again or one of the more expensive Samsung's with the mount on the side. I finally decided an MHS link wasn't worth the extra 100 bucks and bought this again.
Nice big display
light, and super slim
pixels look nice
Had major black light bleed in the middle of the screen. I tapped the screen and that went away, but i still have very noticeable black light bleed on the left side middle of the screen, which is very annoying when playing games that are in a dark area, or watching dark movies. the bleed extens about an inch or two.
Maybe it'll go away, im not too sure how to deal with this.
Never RMA'd a product on newegg before, but this might be worth it if i cant enjoy my darker video games and movies.
sucks because i paid $45 for overnight shipping.
Maybe it'll go away, im not too sure how to deal with this.
