First off let me say that AMD's design and architecture of the Fury X is fantastic. Seriously, the Fury X is a great overall design with great compute power and performance. They really did do a good job designing this card.
Let me also say that I purchased 2 of these cards (the other from ASUS) around the same time. My case is a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv micro-ATX case so I was looking for cards in a smaller form factor that did not exhaust hot air into the case and would be fine sitting with no air gap in between the 2. I previously had 2 EVGA GTX 970 FTW's in the same configuration. The top one would get very hot under normal gaming use due to the lack of airflow. I also got extremely frustrated with Nvidia's drivers constantly crashing and giving me issues. I have had AMD crossfire setups in the past as well.
Benefits:
-Huge performance
-Small form factor
-Liquid cooled
-Low noise, even under load
-Great looking (personal opinion)
These cards have been fantastic in my system as they fulfilled all of my requirements and have been able to play every game I have at above 60 FPS. If you have read the reviews you'd know that Crossfire Fury X's generally perform (and scale) better than SLI GTX 980ti's, while with only single cards the 980ti is better. I couldn't be happier with the performance I am getting with these 2 Fury X's in Crossfire.
The super low noise during gaming is something that I have been looking for in a GPU for a long time. Finally I can have great performance and low noise under load. The same goes for the temperature of the card. Under gaming loads my cards max out at about 65C. That being said, my exhaust route is slightly cramped and when I fully open my case up the load temps drop to 55C for both cards.
Part of this low temp is the radiator setup (obviously), the other part though is the fan included. I'm being serious, the included fan is absolutely fantastic. Finally someone designed a low noise and properly DUCTED fan. I know this is generally not considered, but the closer the blades are to the housing of the fan the more efficient the system is. The blades on this fan rotate incredibly close to the housing. The second part is that ring on the fan. Most people have said this is for stabilization when in fact it turns the fan into a perfectly efficient ducted fan. So in reality there are 2 duct systems, one of which is nearly perfectly efficient.
What all this means is that these fans move tons of air without having to spin fast at all. All of you owners and future owners, put your hand in the exhaust and feel the airflow, then put your hand near one of your normal case fans. I bet the one on the Fury's radiator moves more air.
That sure was a lot about fans, lol.
My other card (the ASUS) has the pump whine problem. This one does NOT.
The only downside that I can think of is that the cooling tubes are a little long for my small case. For larger cases I don't see this being a problem.
This is not really a problem with the card, but with AMD's drivers. You cannot run 2 cards in Crossfire, with V-Sync on, and with a second monitor acting as an extended desktop. For whatever reason this causes a ton of latency in the display and ends with horrible audio problems. Turning V-Sync off fixes this, but running without V-Sync is a horrible experience. Whenever there is an ultrawide curved monitor with Freesync I will make the switch.
I took some of this review from my review of the ASUS Fury X.
this card is a beast I was able to play most games with high/ultra settings. never saw temps over 40c under 100% load. this card is tiny and would allow it to be installed in most small cases.
since I installed the card it noticed some whine coming from the pump, however never really bothered me. 2 months after purchasing this card the pump completely failed. while attempting to play fallout 4 the game kept crashing while loading, but would load eventually, that's when I noticed that the card was sitting at 60c and slowly rise till it hit 75c then shut the whole system down to prevent damage. I checked my fan profile on me I afterburner and it never changed, setting the fan to 100% didn't change the temp it just sat at 60c at idle. not sure what style pump I have if it's the old style or new. contacted sapphire and they sent me an rma form and claim it will take 24 hours to process rma. guess we will see what happens.
overall this is an amazing card however I now have my doubts about the water cooler parts used with these cards as I would expect nothing but quality parts being used for such a high end card. hopefully this was a one time failure and the new one will not have this issue
