Yet another fine product. Second one I have purchased. 1st went on a p4p800 (socket 478) and the 2nd went on a P5LD2 Deluxe (socket 775), both went on very easy. All though, with the socket 775 I did have to use one screw for the middle bar that was a tad longer but I found that with the MB screws and had to turn it but that proved to be a bonus for cooling. Of course you do have to take the MB out to put it on. What do you expect look at the size this thing. But don't let size fool you. It's not as heavy as it looks.

Thermaltake's 120 fan has the right narrow and long screw to afix the fan if you plan on using a fan. Be sure to get the one with speed control if sound is an issue.

Both MBs average 35c and 43c on full load. Not bad for 3.2Eghz and 3.6ghz prescott. When I overclock I've never see temps higher then 47c at full load.

It had a very smooth finish and Don't forget the silver paste.

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW
Revolting installation

Double the surface area of other heatsinks allow it to work well with minimal (quiet) airflow.

I've installed many large huge heatsinks, but none so ridiculously awkward. I managed to install it in only two hours (because I had the right tools around), after having to wipe and reapply the thermal paste 5 times. You need a looooong screwdriver with a hex head of the right size (or a hex bit with an extension segment) to reach the screws.

The brackets for the P4 can't rest in a stable position until you put the fan in, so even after you have everything in place, it's hard to complete the installation.

When complete, each screw rests slighly outside the edge of the plate it presses on, so I'm worried that with some vibration it might fall off and two seconds later, without a sink, my CPU will fry.

The heatpipes are actually flimsy tubes easily bent by hand.

The whole thing is very ugly.

I will replace this as soon as possible. I already have five Thermalright 120 heatsinks, I thought I'd try something different, but it's not "..right".
