Faster and much quieter then the IBM/Hitachi drive it replaced in my IBM Thinkpad R32.
None really.
The trickiest part was removing the old hard drive from my Thinkpad R32. IBM applies this sticky white tape underneath their drives (presumably used as an electrical insulator). But once out, the Toshiba went in easily. Before removing the IBM drive, I cloned it with Acronis - also available at Newegg. I'm very pleased so far with the Toshiba drive.
Was originally a good drive ran well for the intial year and started having bad sectors and intermittent failures to be recognized (swapped in HD recognized 100% so not the laptop). Finally died.
Extended warranty a necessity...
It's half the price I bought it but I still wouldnt chance another.
