Transcend 16GB Compact Flash (CF) 400X Flash Card Model TS16GCF400

Pros: I got one that was defective. It corrupted random image files when used in my Canon DSLRs. I tried several times to reformat and tried filling the card with data to let the controller map around the bad sectors. No luck. I went to the Transcend website and they have a very easy RMA process. I looked up my Newegg account online and printed the invoice, which was needed for the RMA to be accepted.

I got back a new compact flash card of the same model in about a week. Nice customer service, Trancend!

Cons: Wish it would have worked the first time. If you buy one of these, test it thoroughly before you trust it with any important data.

Overall Review: Transcend flash memory cards are priced below Sandisk. Pro photographers spend the bucks for Sandisk but I'm an amateur so I can afford to take a chance to save a little money.

Pros: It works

Cons: Performance is nowhere near what is advertised. After noting slow performance in my Nikon D 300 S, I benchmarked with ATTO and with flash memory toolkit. The memory tests at a maximum of 20 MB per second write and 32 MB per second read. This translates to 133X write speed and 200 X read speed. I am very disappointed and am returning to Newegg.

Overall Review: I also timed large file transfers with similar results to the above benchmark tests. Transcend advertises this as 400 X which is 60 MB per second then further says it is only 60 MB per second in read and is only 30 MB per second and write. Actual tests indicate that it is approximately half that speed.
