Cheap, little-to-no lag time switching between PCs, works fine for me with 4 PCs sharing a G5 and Das Keyboard.
The guys who designed this were stoned or something; its a pain to mount this flat on ANYTHING. The tension from the KVM cables coupled with the fact that there are basically ports on *all* 4 sides (the top has the buttons, bottom is flat) means that making this look neat is a royal pain.
Noticeable loss of video quality at 1680x1050 VGA.
Annoying design, but can't be beat for the price.
Easy Installation
Windows Compatible
Linux(ish) Compatible
Comes with Windows device software (optional)
Is not compatible with Fedora 15 'Lovelock'
Small 3-4 second 'pause' when switching to windows. The mouse will lockup for this period before you can move.
I bought this product hoping to use it with two machines, one being Windows 7 Pro and the other being Fedora 15 'Lovelock'. While I did not buy it from Newegg, which I should have, I needed it in a rush so I purchased it for $19.99 from a local computer shop.
The product does work when switching from Windows to the Linux machine via using the hotkey (Scroll-Lock + Scroll-Lock), however, going from Linux to Windows does NOT work with Fedora 15. I've tried Scroll-Lock, Num-Lock, Cap-Lock, and about 15 other combinations, I even installed a scroll-lock fix available for linux, which didn't work as well. It appears that the only time you CAN switch from Linux to Windows is if you are in Terminal Mode (not X GUI), then numlock + numlock works fine.
Overall, minus finding out the price here on newegg is cheaper, (you may the price for needing it quickly), and the linux issues, it is not a bad item. If you have two windows machines it will work perfectly fine.
