Verbatim DVD-R 4.7GB 16X DataLifePlus Shiny Silver Silk Screen Printable - 50pk SP

Pros: I have been using these discs (the 16X) and also the 8X of the same brand / type. They have never let me down. I have used them to make backup copies of DVDs, backup digital photos and music, and hard drive images. I will continue to buy these DVDs until they are no longer available to me.

Cons: None that I have seen.

Overall Review: There was a point in time were I had many failures in a batch of DVDs. At first I thought what many would think, that the DVD's were bad. I contacted Verbatim and they directed me to mail them back all the failed burns which they replaced. I found out later it was my DVD burner that was the problem and not the discs. Once I replaced the burner that I often had failed burns on I never had the issue again.

Pros: 16X and seemingly compatable with my liteons and NECs

Cons: Both at 8X and 16X so far, I'm getting 3 out of 5 coasters.

Overall Review: My machines have plenty of CPU speed, RAM, fast hard drives with big buffers etc. My burners are all less than 6 months old. I've had very little trouble with other brands (even cheap stuff purchased on sale at the big chain office supply stores). I'm having rotten luck with these on both my Liteons and my NEC. I flashed a couple of my burners just to make sure I had the latest disk compatibility... no go. Still 3 out of 5 coasters.
