You gotta pay for it.
I did write a review giving one egg to this product because of my lack of knowledge. Apparently, I put the sticks in the A1/B1 DImm slots and I was supposed to put it in the A2/B2 slots. after correcting that mistake, my ram worked perfectly at the rated speed. I apologize to the G.Skill team for unfairly giving this product one egg for a mistake I made.
Ran great for a while. Very fast. Reasonably priced.
Ram developed faults and began causing system crashes after 5 months of use.
I've been using g.skill ram for years and held them in high regard. Sadly the memory in my latest build has started to error after less than six months of use. I had the 32gb kit (2x16) of 3600 memory in my latest z490 build and it ran great for the first 5 months.
Over the last few weeks I've been getting random full system shutdowns. Lockup, black screen, then off. No errors show up in windows event viewer. It was usually while doing something mundane like browsing the internet, but occasionally during games too. It took me more than two weeks to diagnose it as faulty memory. Confirmed my suspicion by running memtest 86 and found multiple errors on my first pass at the standard xmp timings.
Since then I have turned off the xmp profile and am running the ram at the default 2133 timing. The system is stable under the looser timing. I have written to g.skill regarding a warranty replacement but have yet to hear back from them.
