Lenovo IdeaPad 15.4" Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 4GB Memory DDR2 667 Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Y530-7343U

Pros: Great exterior. Beautiful keyboard and design - great placement of volume and power control, I love typing on it. The components are solid, P7450 320gb HDD 4gb at this price point is great. Display is crisp @ 1200 x 800, XGA is the way to go. Battery life is surprisingly good.

Cons: Glare from the glossy screen round sunlight can bug. The 1.3 MP Webcam is not so great, frame rate about 5-8 in dark lighting, about 20 in day light.

Biggest grip - the screen cannot bend that far back because of the hinge design, this will take more space then you might think.

Overall Review: A lot of people are complaining about Vista 64 and they should, though not all is lost. SP2 is out and helps a bit. Absolutely go out of your way and find some tweaking tips online such as from Tweakhound.com (love it.)

Also if you are having any troubles, the Lenovo forums are very useful and active. And I found that updated drivers from Intel will make the system more stable.

Overall this is a solid choice at this price. ($600-650)

Pros: Nice Features, Subwoofer, sturdy design

Cons: Bloated and broken operating system. Vista is typically bad enough, but Lenovo makes it worse with poor implementation. 2 minute boots and 3 minute hibernates are unacceptable on a laptop of this caliber.

Also, deleting Lenovo's partition voids your warranty.

Overall Review: Windows 7 RC works wonderfully on it.
