It's a complete system. The receiver is nearly identical to most high end Onkyo's(it does have the 32bit/384khz DAC!). I've got a TR-646 and loved it which prompted me to take a chance here. This is also a 7.2 receiver but only comes with one sub. The speakers are well balanced. You'd likely spend more to in order to upgrade the quality. Sub-woofer is very impressive but big. All HDMI in's are HDCP 2.2 and there's 2 HDMI outs. Having the auto calibrator is a must since this is a THX system.
Included wire is adequate but could be better. I ended up using 12AWG so I could run wires as needed to keep hidden let the speakers reach their potentials. Light up remote would've been nice too.
I've got a high end PC attached to this. It allowed me to use 4096x2160 4k w/ my Sony 65". Box this comes in is huge and heavy. Be prepared. I also recomend ordering 12-14 AWG cable as needed and banana plugs. It's my 1st THX certified and there is a wow factor for the sound image.
Dolby Atmos
Compatibility issues with older PC HDMI in.
I was loving this system as one of the latest additions to my studio, but to have ALL audio (other than a static tick) case working just over two months after getting this is unacceptable. I remember when systems like this used to be built to actually last a long time. Apparently, Onkyo build quality is garbage now.
Take a heavy pass on this and I'm sure all Onkyo products. They're no longer the quality they used to be.
