Relatively inexpensive solution that yields solid performance with room to upgrade. Roomy and stable, with full GPU throughput in Crossfire. Supports DDR2 and DDR3 (though not simultaneously of course).
PCI-E 16x slots are spaced to just barely accommodate 2 dual slot GPUs. The BIOS in general are amateur hour all the way. No setting to shut off NumLock, no numeric voltage settings for the chipset. At least they didn't cut corners on the hardware's performance...
Overall, this is a really nice MoBo. It does what it should and it runs stably. The BIOS are inadequate for OC'ing, but I really just bought this to run solidly at stock speeds, and it does just that. Be forewarned that you must set the RAM speed with jumpers. Not a deal breaker, but that means that if you install DDR2, you are running at 1066. Period. I dropped in 4GB of 800, and it immediately clocked it up to 1066. It's not a problem since everything is stable and happy, but i was a little surprised, so I thought I would share.
Crossfire, option on ddr3, plenty of sata ports and esata included
I don't know if it was this way when i got it, or if it just happened, but about 2 hours after i got xp up and running, i was downloading drivers and such on my new build and my comp shut off. I was a little skeptical at first but then i got a whiff of burnt electronics. One of the capacitors on my brand new mobo was rolling around in my case, and a good inch and a half of bare pcb was uncovered with scorch marks around the spot of the missing capacitor. Needless to say, wasn't to happy.
This mobo had everything i needed at the time of the build, but it bailed out on me within 5 hours of the first post. No overclocking was included and temps where fine (i was checking them constantly) Maybe i just got a bad board?
