ASRock P55 Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Easy install, great looking board, components thoughtfully laid out. I bought this with G.Skill Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH - Retail. Board Picked up advertised timings of 7-7-7-21 FIRST TRY! like the clear cmos button on I/O panel, wicked convenient. haven't tried sata 3 card, but its a nice extra, especially when almost every other company is reducing "extras" to save $. Instant boot is a pretty cool feature, and who cares if it takes long to setup, you're supposed to set it and walk away, not time it, what matters is that it only takes 4-8 seconds to have a working OS when you power it back up. I like the legacy connectors, even if I haven't used them, because some PPL like re-using old stuff till it breaks, lol. My last setup was Q6600 @ 3.3 Ghz, this blows my Q6600 out of the water, AT STOCK SPEEDS! but thats not to say the board isn't without faults- see below.

Cons: The asrock I.E.S. loads on startup, no matter what. and the B.I.O.S. isn't thoughtfully laid out, or maybe i'm just used to my old AMI BIOS, but almost everything is there. overclocking is way too easy on this board- for fear of overclocking too high, I returned I7-860 to default clocks, I figure it's fast enough for now, I'll overclock when i'm used to the speed. i'm sure anyone could nit-pick anything if they want, but regardless of the perceived cons, my 5 egg score still stands! ANYONE LOOKING TO DEDUCT EGGS FOR PERCEIVED FAULTS, READ OTHER POSTS, YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY SEE THE FAULT IS YOUR OWN, NOT THE BOARDS! (I.E. 32 bit os not showing more than 4 gigs of ram) anyway read reviews, might actually solve perceived problem.

ALSO- i'm glad board has LGA 775+1156 mounting holes, because i was able to re-use my zalman 9500 cooler. with stock HSF my idle temps were ~ 35 and load w/prime 95 was over 75, but with zalman my idle temps are ~ 27 and full load temp w/prime 95 is less than 50 degrees WOW! BUY THIS BOARD AND YOU WILL BE SATISFIED!! just make sure to research EVERYTHING you buy, especiall the cpu cooler/heatsink, and everything will go together smooth! ASROCK AND NEWEGG HAVE CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE!

Pros: The board design, layout, and features are all excellent.

Cons: The first motherboard arrived DOA and would not post. I wasted much time trying to troubleshoot the problem. While I waited for the RMA, I bought a "temporary" motherboard and experienced no problems. I rebuilt the system again with the RMA replacement and the board failed after one month. I rebuilt with the "temporary"motherboard and my system is running fine. I have lost my trust in ASRock and decided to eat the cost since there is not a refund policy.

Overall Review: I could not figure out how to have the cpu fan speed controlled by the temperature of the cpu. The BIOS and software do not seem to work in this regard.
