It took 5 minutes to install on old setup. I worried about the wires before receiving this product, but installing was so smooth and easy.
Worked great in the winter with my gas heat. Definitely saved me some money over the winter.
Did not function with my Air Conditioner. My HVAC is combined gas heat with electric AC. When warmer temps arrived, the unit was short cycling. I thought it was my AC unit and called repair man. He ran several tests and determined that it was, without a doubt, my thermostat. We uninstalled and reinstalled the thermostat. The repair guy had extensive knowledge regarding the unit. The thermostat still caused short cycling unless we ran it in test mode. It tested out fine but would not function in traditional modes. Repair man told me that he has run into this several times with the Nest thermostat and recommended that I purchase a Honeywell thermostat. I think I will.
