for a home build, you can easily put an ssd or 2 in a case with no 2.5 inch bays. the drives themselves require no special tools to put screws in, since it does not use screws to secure the drive. and they are easy to change with the dock out of the computer. i frequently use them for raids.

Im using this in a Corsair 500R and it just compliments everything together. Especially since I am trying to fit 16 HDDs into this case (mix between SSDs/2.5s/3.5s This device really helps me save space and professionally mount my laptop drives as well as keep a slim dvd drive since who really uses a disk daily anymore? I also replaced the green/white 3mm LEDs with 5mm white/red LEDs (please know how to solder/de-solder before attempting this). Now my drives light up at night at match the rest of the cases white leds :) The fan in the back is really quiet, I promise you any of your 120mm fans would be louder or even the clickin of your HDDs when they spin n read data are more noticeable. Bought this on sale + rebate for a total of $53.79 vs the retail of $85.99 Entire build is of server grade quality!
