Installs easily into a free 5.25" drive bay. Allows for hot swapping 3.5" HDD. Great for backing up internal HDDs. Faster than external USB back up drives, either 2.5" or 3.5" (needs external power)

Budget friendly, reliable, solid construction, works as expected

Heavy gauge metal - I was initially shocked by its weight. This should help sink excess heat away from your drive. Nice paint or powder coat. 8 mounting screws for the drive and 6 for the adapter are included.

After looking at various options for the many loose 3.5" drives I have laying around, I tried these. They are very sturdy and are lined with foam that securely clamps the drive into the case. The plastic catch is very secure so the case doesn't easily pop open. As with every ORICO product I've purchased, the fit and finish are exceptional and packaging second to none.

With 2tb SSD prices dropping through the basement, and storage needs expanding just as quickly, this product is an absolute winner. I now have 16tb of space available for games, media, and 3d art assets. You will need a PCIe SATA card (6 or 8 ports) to use all 8 drives, but those are inexpensive and a number of good ones are sold here.

Everything I’ve bought made by Phanteks has been really nice. These don’t disappoint either.

It did fit a Slim Optical Drive. That a Optical drive that's used in a laptop for example. Part of my rating is that Newegg knows what they are doing. The First vender on Newegg's list did not deliver. I will leave that for customers to figure out. The least expensive vender is not always the best way to go. Now for the device itself. It works great. It also gives me an extra by for a 3.5" HDD or other drive device like a card reader. Icy Dock makes awesome bay adapters. Everything installed fine. The SATA power adapter is best thing too. You need this adapter to use a Laptop Optical Drive in a desktop PC. Icy Dock did not miss a trick.

It's tool-less, don't need to search for screws. Has a lot of mounting holes so it can fit into just about anything. Great for SSDs.
