Installs easily into a free 5.25" drive bay. Allows for hot swapping 3.5" HDD. Great for backing up internal HDDs. Faster than external USB back up drives, either 2.5" or 3.5" (needs external power)

Since this is just a drive cage, it's hard to say much, except it helped me do literally everything an EvolvX can do... which you probably shouldn't do. EvolvX does a LOT of things well, but it's really not meant to do them ALL simultaneously. When you do, it's packed and weighs like a small car... but hey, it's done.

With 2tb SSD prices dropping through the basement, and storage needs expanding just as quickly, this product is an absolute winner. I now have 16tb of space available for games, media, and 3d art assets. You will need a PCIe SATA card (6 or 8 ports) to use all 8 drives, but those are inexpensive and a number of good ones are sold here.

I have installed about 12 of these, and I own 3 myself. They are very solidly constructed, and look nice in your 2 1/2" bay next to your card reader! These things are perfect for SSD drives and have nice ventilation. They are well worth the low price to protect and mount your solid state drive. I do a lot of system builds, and I buy these exclusively any time the build requires SSD!

Purchased a SSD to replace a HHD and this worked perfectly in my Dell XPS. SSD is really quick and well worth the upgrade.

I thought this is the only 12Gbps hot-swap hard drive module I could found. Built a file server and like to try SSD drives for maximizing data transfering speed. This module’s performance is pretty impressive for me! The 12Gbps mini-SAS HD is awesome!

High quality. Drives go in and come out smoothly. Nice design. While this does screw tightly into your case, the bay itself which houses the drives instead sits on these little black rubber discs, so any vibrations transfered to your case are reduced. If you look closely you can see them in the product photos. LED can simply not be plugged in, so it's never going to be annoying.

Correct threading for 3.5" HDD screws (# 6-32 UTS), while nearly all other brackets use M3 screws for 2.5" HDDs. Needed for cases that have special isolation grommet screws like HP business desktops Correct length to match 3.5" drive screw positions, unlike some other brackets (e.g. StarTech Bracket25x2)
