This really is a 1 meter long F/F null modem cable; it appears to be well-made. I used a continuity tester on it and found that all nine pins are cross-connected appropriately.

Works Out of Blister Package on my work machine (Win7 Pro x64) my personal machines (Linux), a Win8 Tablet w/ USB OTG adatper and even had to plug it into a server (MS 2k8 R2 x64) because I did not want to stand in my server room when the temp is <60!
